What are your thoughts on this? What are your thoughts and experience with the renewals and rates being handed out by the insurance companies right now. Hearing a lot of people feel like their rates sky rocketed this year when renewing. Are there any new options for insurance out there? Seems like the few that are writing are gouging from what I am hearing..

At InflatableOffice, it is our intent to make our software such that it is easy for operators to be safe, train employees, and then hopefully get insurance discounts.  We have a lot of things in place now like being able to take pictures of paperwork, setups, or injuries and they attach to the leads in the system.  We also have a safety program, a training program that operators can use to make their own safety training tests, and we are working with an insurance company to get reduced rates for companies with a proven safety record and those using our safety features.  I think that if operators want better rates, they have to distinguish themselves, record everything, and have a great safety plan.  InflatableOffice will help you do that and prove it to insurance companies.

I am sure as renewals start coming in we will see if this is actually helpful for operators or if it's in place to limit the amount of operators and make insurance companies money.

Well, we don't make money from insurance companies, so our goal is to help the operator.  We are not going to do anything for the insurance companies instead of the operators cause we are a business that likes to profit :)

It's marketing. An all in one solution is just marketing. You have to look at a lot of things. Here's software, but hey, we let you do this too. Here's insurance, but buy from this guy and its cheaper. To me it's gimmicky. I think there is more clout from working with people, rather than mandating it to get better pricing. SIOTO works WITH other folks for training, not just one company/manufacturer, and prides themselves on being independent. And another point, it's not always a good fit for a lot of folks. You are new, take a training course, but don't yet have the need for software to run your 4,6 or 8 units. In this industry, take it all with a grain of salt.

Insurance is a legal racket.
Have you ever heard of rates decreasing?
