I lost my Dad almost the same way, of course this was when Tab first came out and there was no such thing as Sugar free. He was on horse and pig insulin his whole life and he shots were probally more than I take all day and he took at lest 3 per day. He didn't have a machine to test his sugars either and had to use pee strips which were not very acurate.
At the end he loss his eye site, was on dialysis and died at home while me my three brothers and my mom watched helpless. I take it this way that I rather have this disease than any of my kids and if it means that my quality of life suffers because of it so be it. But I want to be there for my kids so I can see the things that my Dad never got to. Playing sports, graduate high school and college, getting married having grand children and just enjoying the smiles that my children bring to my face.

That's my goal, too. I'm 40 and, of course, I'm at risk because of our family history. So I'm changing my diet now, getting this extra weight off now, and more importantly, trying to educate my kids on eating healthy. Take care of yourself!

I would recommend the P90X workout to everyone trying to lose some weight and get into shape. And it helps alot with this industry too, since you build alot of muscle during those 3 months.

But start it in November, because it takes a time commitment and you will be sore.

I take it you did the p9ox? How did it turn out? Always wanted to, but instead hired a friend who is a personal trainer and we workout at the gym.

I've done p90x also and it will kick your ass if you arn't ready for it. The hardest part is keeping up with the workout (45min-1.5hr) 6 days a week. I def saw results and could almost do tripple (pushups, sittups, pullups) than when i started.

Yeah, well, I guess I should say I did the P30X (HA!). I started it in late March, but we got so busy with rentals in May I was unable to do more than a months worth of the program. But, during that short 30 day stint, I went from 179 to 163 pounds and gained a lot of muscle too. I was able to do a lot more pushups and was able to do un-assisted pull-ups for the first time in a long time.

It really helped me with the inflatables too. Last season I wasn't able to roll my Screamer slide by myself (395lbs), but this season I was able to, although it is still no fun.

Anyways, I will be starting up the P90X again after October, when we slow down. Every once in a while, when I need motivation, I look at one of the videos below or go to YouTube and type in "P90X before after videos"
